What is "Cubapalooza?"  Cubapalooza is a jamboree event for youth ages 6 – 11 and their families. It is meant to encourage youth who are unfamiliar with Cub Scouts and to share the excitement and joy of the Scouting program; to give current Tigers/Cubs/Webelos a chance to work on age-appropriate activities and earn progress towards their ranks; and – most of all, to provide a family-friendly good first camping experience to new and younger Scouts.

When and where is it?  Saturday, August 21st, 2010 at Hans Jensen Park (a section of Lake Sammamish State Park). Overnight camping is available on Friday night (no program activities) and Saturday night (campfire bowl), with closing ceremonies held Sunday morning.

What are the activities?  Planned activities for Scouts include catapults, cooking, Scout games, nature walks, and emergency preparedness. Activities for Scouts as well as guests include birdhouse building, carnival games, ropes & knots, trail of the Bobcat, and water rockets.

Why hold a Cubapalooza?  As Cubs, the boys are too young to participate in this year's 2010 Boy Scout National Jamboree at Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia.  They should have the opportunity to experience the same type of event – Scout games, making new friends, and camping out in the woods with fellow Scouts. This is also a great opportunity for your Pack to work towards your Summertime Pack Award and put the "out" in Scouting!

How do we find out more?  For more information see the Cubapalooza Flyer at the link below, or feel free to reach out to John Eberhardt directly via his contact page.
