Welcome to the Aquila District website. Our district spans from West Seattle to Des Moines, and from Tukwila to Vashon. Aquila District was recognized with the 2015 Journey to Excellence Gold Award! There are 54 Scouting units with more than 400 registered adult volunteers serving over 1,100 youth throughout our district. If you are interested in learning more about Scouting, please contact or visit one of the Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops, or Venturing Crews in our community. Our monthly Roundtable meetings are a great place for adults to learn about Scouting and exchange ideas with other Scouters all over the District.
All Scouts and Webelos are invited to re-enact the historic gold rush to the Klondike. Scouts will pull homemade sleds from Skagway to Dawson. En route they will encounter problems that require basic Scout skills and teamwork to overcome. Leading up to the event, Scouts will build their own Klondike sled, but Scouts (not dogs) will be powering the sleds through the snow. Get out in the snow, test your mettle, and see how your Patrol or Den fares in this annual favorite!
Wilderness First Aid (WFA) is the assessment of and treatment given to an ill or injured person in a remote environment where definitive care by a physician and/or rapid transport is not readily available. This 16-hour hands-on training will prepare you to safely participate in unit outdoor adventures and will qualify you to attend the National Jamboree or any BSA High Adventure base. Participants will learn how to assess, treat, and (when possible) contain emergencies within the scope of their training. Adult Scout leaders and youth 14 years old or older are invited to participate and earn their certification.
Shake off winter and visit Camp Long for a day of fun outdoor experiences! Youth Outdoor Adventure Day will be a free day of fun activities open to the public, for boys and girls aged 10-20. Planned activities include: archery, high-wire challenge course, rock climbing, rifle shooting, dutch oven cooking, orienteering, fire building, tomahawk throwing, geocaching, robotics, and s'more!
Embark upon your own adventure aboard the Yankee Clipper!

Scouts should check out this cool application for the iPhone and iPod touch, designed by the Aquila District's own Mike Grueter:
ScoutTracker is an app for the iPhone and iPod touch that lets Boy Scouts track their rank advancement. Scouts can sign and date each requirement of each rank, instantly see what requirements are left to complete, send reports to advancement coordinators via e-mail, and more.
