The Toy Fair, in operation since 1977, is a grand-scale service project that assists social service agencies in King County in supporting the needs of people in our local communities. Each year social service agencies are invited to participate and select toys and gifts for distribution to recipients of all ages.
Scouts from Packs and Troop in our District donate home-made, quality gifts to warm the hearts of the needy during the holiday season. The contributions every person makes to support this service are greatly appreciated. We look forward to your help in our efforts to expand the outreach of this project so we can touch the lives of as many families as possible.
Dens and Patrols can do their good turn by coming up with an idea for a toy, making them, and delivering them to the Toy Fair. The projects Scouts work on could count toward rank advancement (think Basketry, Game Design, Indian Lore, Leatherwork, Metalwork, Pottery, Wood Carving, and Woodwork). Download the Toy Fair Manual for gift and packaging ideas, instructions, and additional information.
