We anticipate opening the Scout Service Center on June 9th, and Puget Sound Scout Shop on June 15th, contingent on King County entering phase 2. Hours will be 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday-Friday. The Scout Shop will follow those hours and additionally open Saturday mornings beginning 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
This exciting seminar is delivered over a fun-filled day providing in depth information for everyone interested in learning what a Kodiak course is (Adults involved in Venturing, older Venturers interested in being a Kodiak instructor, Scouts BSA leaders, Team Coaches, Council professionals, Training chairs, and anyone else with a desire to learn more).
Topics range from who can offer a Kodiak Trek, how you can easily organize a Trek and train instructors, ideas on the many ways you can offer Kodiak, the intricacies of conducting a successful course, and benefits to councils, Crews, Troops, Teams, and youth will be covered. If you are interested in learning more about what Kodiak is and what it takes to plan a successful course, you need to participate in this Kodiak Instructors Seminar.
Who Should Attend: Cubmasters, Den Leaders, and Adults who want to lead Cub & Webelos Scouts on exciting, well planned, outdoor camping programs.
If your Pack is planning an overnight camping trip you MUST have at least one adult in your pack certified as BALOO Trained!
This course is intended to provide cutting edge information about this exciting program to those adults who are involved with Venturing Crews and anyone interested in learning about it. Crew Advisors who complete this training and the Venturing version of Youth Protection training are considered "trained."
Trained leaders at all levels are the key to quality Scouting programs that fulfill the mission of the Boy Scouts of America and attract and retain youth members. Participants will discuss the roles and responsibilities of Venturing Crew Advisors and how to keep youth positively engaged in the functions of a successful crew.
