Klondike Derby has been rescheduled!
For Saturday, March 3rd, Saturday – only.
– Note: Friday night lodging is limited.
Registration: Saturday morning, 7 am to 9:30 am (and Friday evening for Units that stay overnight).
Given the rescheduling of the Klondike derby and the proximity of the two dates the District Committee has decided to cancel the Camporee event previously scheduled for May 11-12. We apologize for the disruption this may cause in your unit's schedule.
Please note, an NYLT event listed in the February North Lakes Newsletter is actually an event for staff of NYLT, not the training course. In the February edition of the newsletter we listed an NYLT event to be held at Mountain Meadows on August 1-4, 2018. This is not an event for NYLT participants, rather a staff development event. National Youth Leadership Training is like a Wood Badge experience for youth; a highly valuable training opportunity for your unit's upcoming leaders. More information about NYLT can be found here.
The North Lakes District's Chapter of the Scouting Honor Society "Order of the Arrow" is called "Ashuk T'salil".
Chapter Meetings: The Chapter meets monthly on the 2nd Thursday of the month at the same place and time as the North Lakes Roundtable. All chapter members are encouraged to attend for fellowship and business. In June the meeting is held as a picnic where officer elections take place.
Calendar: Other Order of the Arrow events are listed on the Lodge Calendar. This includes four Ordeals, where newly elected candidates learn about and become a member of the Order.
Unit Elections: Unit hold elections with the aid of a team from the Chapter this year between November 4th 2017 and April 1st, 2018. Unit leaders should contact the Elections Vice Chief to schedule their election early to reserve their preferred date. Your unit's Youth OA Representative should be able to put you in contact. Or make contact at Round Table or through District Leadership.
Arrow of Light Ceremonies: The chapter offers a team of youth to help make your Arrow of Light ceremonies memorable. The team dresses in the Northwest Coast Regalia. Contact the Chapter Leadership to reserve your preferred date.
