WFA Training – Wilderness First Aid

2024 Wilderness First Aid Training Sessions

In Scouting, readiness means knowing first aid, especially in remote areas. Wilderness first aid (WFA) is vital for backcountry trips, emphasizing assessment skills and resource utilization when professional help is far away. It significantly impacts emergencies, making a difference between life and death. Even short hikes in the Pacific Northwest can lead far from assistance, making WFA essential, not just for extreme adventures. Explore more about Wilderness First Aid at the BSA Wilderness First Aid homepage.

CLASS PREREQUISITE: WFA is an advanced first aid course.  Basic first aid knowledge like what is covered in the BSA ScoutsBSA First Class requirements for first aid is a prerequisite.

Before a Wilderness First Aid certificate can be issued participants MUST have a current adult CPR/AED certification. Online-only CPR/AED classes do not fulfill this prerequisite.
