Cub Week Pack Volunteer Requirements

Under BSA National Standards, all packs must provide Den Leaders (FOR CAMP PURPOSES A DEN LEADER IS ANY ADULT VOLUNTEERING TO WALK WITH THE KIDS AT CAMP. They do NOT have to be a BSA Registered Den Leader) at a ratio of one Den Leader for every four campers. These Den Leaders will accompany the Cubs to each of their activities, help them with the activities, and help maintain general order and discipline.

In addition to the Den Leader requirement, the Peninsulas Territory Cub/Webelos Scout Day Camp requires each pack to provide Station Staff to lead each activity station. These station staff will be trained in what to do for their station to run smoothly. The station staff requirements vary with the number of Cubs coming.

3 – 8 Cubs/Webelos – One (1) person to help lead a station one of the days of camp

9 – 14 Cubs/Webelos – Two (2) people to help lead a station during the week. (One person on each of two days)

15 – 17 Cubs/Webelos – Three (3) people to lead a station during the week. (One person on each of the four days, plus an additional person for one day)

18 – 20 Cubs               Four (4) people to lead a station during the week. (One person on each of the four days, plus an additional person for two of the days)

20 + Cubs/Webelos – Five (5) people to lead a station during the week. (Two people on each of the four days)

Camp check-in and check-out procedures

Our Cub Scout Day Camp has a STRICT check-in and check-out policy to increase the safety of the individuals that attend Day Camp. At the time of registration, each Cub form will provide a list of persons acceptable to pick the Cub up from day camp. In most instances, the parents will indicate that the Cub will be driving home from camp in the Pack carpool.

Arrival

Each day as the Cubs arrive at camp, they will be checked in at the flag gathering area with their Den Leaders by the adult transporting them to camp. This Roll will be collected at opening as each Den leaves for first station. Do NOT leave the flag area until your roster is collected.

Early Departure

If a Cub needs to leave prior to the end of the camp day, check out is conducted through Headquarters. Please make prior arrangements by either emailing the Day Camp Director, Danny Hall, or by sending a note in with the Cub. Adults picking up the Cub must show a photo ID that matches a person that is listed on the registration form as one of the authorized Cub pick up persons.

End of Day Departure

At the end of closing ceremonies, the Camp Director will dismiss the dens to the care of the Den Walkers.  The Den Leaders will then release the Cubs to the cars and drivers that will be taking them home. Den Leaders – PLEASE MAKE SURE TO SIGN Cubs OUT ON THE SHEET INCLUDED IN YOUR DEN FOLDER.

No-show and absentee

If a Cub does not show up for camp, phone calls will be made from Camp headquarters to locate the cub, unless prior notification has been received.
